People like Susan are why I do what I do. I’m am delighted to be linked in with these resilient Australians. The floods of February 2019 were apalling, and devastated vast regions of Western Queensland – with the region looking very much like an inland sea.
6 months after the floods the Western Queensland Primary Health Network hosted a Summit and brought service providers and community groups together to take stock of the recovery process. I had the good fortune to be invited to assist them facilitate that event and strengthen collaboration across the sector, in response to this event. Now 18 months later we presented their story yesterday at a conference on the Gold Coast. ANZDMC 2020.
This is what resilience looks like. This is what we all need to understand and ‘get behind’.
