Dr Moreton has completed a project working with the Emergency Management (EM) team for the Yarra Ranges, Knox and Maroondah Councils. The Council share resources to ensure a strong and consistent approach to EM issues across the region. The team had a significant change of personnel in the past 12 months with a key EM professional moving on, and a new team forming to continue the work. As with all staff changes of this kind, it was wise to spend time planning for the workload that faced the team, building trust and communication between team members, and touching base with all key stakeholders to ensure the right approach to what is a heavy EM workload with high priorities. The outcomes are strong levels of trust, shared outcomes and priorities and a sense of confidence moving forward. It is always a pleasure to work with these Councils and their professional and focussed staff.
