Four Councils in the Wimmera (Victoria) collaborate as a region in relation to Emergency Planning and Management. Such collaboration occurs between councils in many regions across Victoria, and is an efficient and effective way to share resources and enhance resilience across the State. Dr Moreton has been working with the Wimmera Emergency Management Resources Sharing Program (WEMRSP), to develop a community engagement strategy and plan for emergency management. This core document will inform how the four councils engage with communities across the region, in preparation for any emergency events in the future. This work is part of a longer term program of direct community engagement to strengthen the resilience of the communities across the Wimmera.
